On our journey to the Cliffs of Moher we will take you to the rugged West Coast of Ireland, where the cliffs stand tall at over 700 feet and run along the coast of Clare for almost 8 miles. The Cliffs of Moher were formed over 320 million years ago, and today form part of the Burren and Cliffs of Moher UNESCO Global Geopark.
Our journey will take us through some of Ireland’s finest coastal villages like Kinvara where you will see the Dunguaire Castle in all its beauty standing by the Atlantic Ocean.
From here we will travel through the Burren, a landscape of limestone and rock dating back to over 300 million years, the old ocean floor.
Stopping at the village of Doolin in a local pub for lunch, we will sample the local cuisine like seafood chowder straight from the Atlantic Ocean and the “Doolin Red”, a favourite local beer.
Arriving at the cliffs, we will have plenty of time to explore the amazing views out over the Atlantic Ocean while taking in the O’Brien’s Tower which is perched at the top of the cliffs. The local landowner created this site for tourists in 1835 for the future in mind.
On our return the Dublin, we will stop at Bunratty Castle for a photo stop before travelling through some of Ireland’s finest agricultural landscapes arriving back in Dublin in the early evening.
